The building before the intervention.

The house needed to feel complete for two people and effortless for twelve. Instead of separating everyday rooms from occasional ones, the plan contracts and expands through doors, curtains and courtyards.

The route becomes the room.

The original central passage was removed. Three courts now organise arrival, daily life and retreat, giving every principal room two orientations without exposing the house to the street.

Material is an operating decision.

Honed local limestone forms the continuous ground. Walnut appears only at points of contact—doors, handles, cabinets and window reveals. Lime plaster absorbs the changing colour of the courts.

Sliding panels allow the kitchen, library and guest rooms to change their degree of privacy while keeping a visual relationship with the three courts.
